Bethesda Outreach Ministries is located in Hammanskraal, South Africa. An excerpt from the email reads as follows: "As you know, Roger and I are part of Bethesda Outreach Ministries in South Africa. One of our responsibilities is to work with interns from the states who may want to minister with us, working with children who have been orphaned because of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Most of our children do not have AIDS, so we are not a medical ministry. They are AIDS affected, not AIDS infected. (Although 3 of our children do test positive for HIV.) We have African houseparent couple (right now 5 couples) who parent the children in homes on our village property. We also have an on-site school for grades K-7. We have many areas of service for interns but our main need is in our school. Many of children are behind academically due to a number of reasons – little or no formal education before they come to us, poor educational standards in the country, difficulty with English, etc…. Many of our interns work one-on-one with our children. Even if they are not education majors, they are still a great help! Of course, our interns do lots more from maintenance to child-care in the homes to cooking for ministry teams. Some come for a month, others longer – up to a year. (If they stay longer, they are considered short-term missionaries under EBM.)" Interested in serving? Contact the Cryans via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
