The Wilderness Institute for Leadership Development is scheduled for two sessions in 2008.  As in past years, both will be held in Algonquin Provincial Park (Ontario, Canada). 

The Spring session will be May 10-16, 2008.  The Fall session will be September 13-19, 2008.  Both sessions run from 4:00 PM Saturday to 8:00 PM Friday.  The May session is a week earlier this year, avoiding the Victoria Day holiday in Canada.  This move will allow W.I.L.D. participants to avoid extra holiday traffic and it will offer the event greater seclusion both at base camp and in the park.

Online enrollment for 2008 sessions will open on December 15, 2007.  Participants are encouraged to enroll early this year to ensure their spot for the desired date.  

Passports are not required for U.S. citizen travel to and from Canada for the May W.I.L.D. session.  They likely will be required for travel in September.  The most recent published information indicates the rule will go into effect in "Summer 2008."  The State Department is working on a passport card for Western Hemisphere travel that may be more accessible, but it does not look like they will hit the targeted Spring 2008 implementation date.  There may also be exceptions in the rule for U.S. citizen minors traveling in "designated groups" to Canada.  We will continue to post updates to this issue as they become available.
